5-Animal Qigong
The 5-Animal Qigong System, also known as "Wu Qin Xi," is one of the oldest documented Chinese exercise systems and is often associated with the renowned physician Hua Tuo from the 2nd century. It combines animal movements with Qigong principles and aims to strengthen the body and mind holistically. Scientific studies on Qigong in general show that regular practice can have positive effects on health, such as improving flexibility, enhancing well-being, and reducing stress. Through the practice of the 5-Animal Qigong System, you can learn from what the animals intuitively know about their bodies. Animals are very tuned into their bodies. Basic acting in English
Would you like to discover your dramatic side? Or are you looking for an enjoyable way to practice your English? In this course you will learn some basic acting techniques, such as using space and movement, being aware of the audience, conveying emotions, and creating a character. The course is suited for native as well as non-native speakers; no acting experience is required. Lots of fun guaranteed! Make sure to wear comfortable clothes. Please bring indoor shoes.
Improv in English
Would you like to try out improv acting, or just to have fun while practicing your English? In this course you will learn and enjoy the basic techniques of many improv games. Suddenly you may find yourself acting out a scene about, say, a singing serial killer, or a job interview in a hot-air balloon. Who knows? The main point is simply to say YES to anything that happens. Be prepared to laugh, and to surprise yourself!
The course is suitable for enthusiastic improv actors with and without experience.
Make sure to wear comfortable clothes. Please bring indoor shoes.
Hatha-Yoga in English: Flow & Fluency
This course combines classical Hatha Yoga with English practice in motion. Hatha yoga helps to relieve the senses of your external distractions by focusing the mind on the breath, body and energetic awakening. Guided fully in English, you will learn postures while embodying vocabulary and everyday expressions. Both native speakers and learners will benefit by meeting like-minded people and deepening their skills through movement, in a mindful setting.
Yoga is not a practice of attaining idealised physical postures, but a process of self-exploration, self-acceptance, and self-transformation. Relaxation (Savasana) at the end of each class allows to fully assimilate the effects of the practice while offering a feeling of completeness, openness and wholeness. Gentle yoga makes the course accessible to all. By the end, you feel balanced, energized, and more fluent – language flows naturally through movement.
Dieser Kurs verbindet klassisches Hatha Yoga mit Englischtraining in Bewegung. Hatha Yoga hilft dabei, die Sinne von äußeren Ablenkungen zu befreien, indem der Geist auf Atem, Körper und energetisches Erwachen gelenkt wird.Die gesamte Anleitung erfolgt auf Englisch: Du lernst Yogahaltungen und verinnerlichst gleichzeitig Vokabeln und alltägliche Redewendungen. Sowohl Muttersprachler als auch Lernende profitieren davon, Gleichgesinnte zu treffen und ihre Fähigkeiten in einer achtsamen Umgebung durch Bewegung zu vertiefen.
Yoga bedeutet nicht, perfekte Körperhaltungen zu erreichen, sondern einen Prozess der Selbsterforschung, Selbstakzeptanz und Selbstverwandlung zu erleben. Die abschließende Entspannung (Savasana) jeder Stunde ermöglicht es, die Wirkung der Praxis vollständig aufzunehmen und ein Gefühl von Ganzheit, Offenheit und Vollständigkeit zu erfahren. Sanftes Yoga macht den Kurs für alle zugänglich. Am Ende fühlst du dich ausgeglichen, voller Energie und sprachlich fließender – die Sprache beginnt durch Bewegung ganz natürlich zu fließen.
Bitte bringen Sie zu den Kursen bequeme Kleidung, eine Matte und, wer möchte, eine Decke mit. Im vhs-Gebäude in Heidelberg-Bergheim und in Wieblingen gibt es Gymnastikmatten.
